Clipper — Privacy Policy

Clipper ("the app") is a desktop application that runs on the user's own Windows computer. It turns long videos into short vertical clips and, when the user approves a clip, uploads it to that user's own TikTok account through TikTok's Content Posting API.

Who operates it

Clipper is operated by its individual developer, contactable at anzekos11@gmail.com. There is no company account system, no sign-up, and no other users: each person runs their own copy on their own machine.

What the app stores, and where

Everything stays on the computer running the app. Specifically:

• TikTok access and refresh tokens, in a local file (secrets/tiktok_token.json), so the user does not have to log in for every post.
• The TikTok display name and the privacy levels the account allows, cached locally so the app can show which account is connected before anything is posted.
• Video files, transcripts and captions the user produces, in a local working folder.

What the app does not do

• It does not send the user's data to the developer or to any third-party server. There is no backend: the only external services it talks to are TikTok's API and the video source the user chose.
• It contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or profiling of any kind.
• It does not read, collect or store other people's TikTok data — only the account that authorized it.
• It never sells or shares data, because it never collects it centrally.

What it asks TikTok for, and why

• user.info.basic — to show which TikTok account is connected, so a clip is never posted to the wrong account.
• video.upload and video.publish — to upload a clip the user has explicitly approved, together with the caption and hashtags shown to the user beforehand.

Nothing is uploaded automatically. A clip is transferred only after the user presses Approve for that specific clip.

Deleting the data

Deleting secrets/tiktok_token.json removes the app's access immediately. Access can also be revoked at any time from TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions. Deleting the app's folder removes everything else it ever stored.

Children

The app is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the minimum age required by TikTok's own terms in their country.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
